About the trainer
What matters most to Alice is that your dog lives the happiest, healthiest, longest life possible as your “best friend”! She accomplishes this with her holistic approach in everything she does which encompasses your dog’s entire lifestyle including positive training methods, proper species specific nutrition, non toxic flea, tick, heartworm applications and of course following proper vaccination protocols by titering first.
Alice is a Professional member of the IAABC (International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants), PPG (The Pet Professional Guild), CIVT (College of Integrative Veterinary Therapies), NICE (National Institute for Canine Ethics), L.E.G.S. (Family Dog Mediation Education Center-Beyond Dog Training), Aggressive Dog Education, NDT (Nordic Education Centre for Ethical Dog Training), DogBiz, IACP (International Association of Canine Professionals) and APDT (Association of Pet Dog Trainers). In addition, as a Board Certified Holistic Health Practitioner (Teachers College Columbia University), Alice is a Certified Nutrition & Lifestyle Coach. Miss Marino is a graduate in high standing of Anthony Jerone’s School of Dog Training & Career, Inc., the only school licensed by the New York State Board of Education as a Proprietary School of Supervision. She is also a graduate of New York University, The Institute for Integrative Nutrition, Certified by Teachers College Columbia University and Board Certified by the American Association of Drugless Practitioners.
Alice’s formal Dog Training took place with New York City’s first K-9 Corp developer for the NYC Subway Transit Police. Her training is all hands-on, including dynamic interaction with dogs of all ages, breeds, temperaments and size. She is well versed in all phases of canine behavior issues and formal obedience at all levels. One of her specialties is working with “bully” breeds, the most misunderstood and wrongly judged dogs. In Alice’s family, a Rottweiler falls into this category with her gentle nature, playful character and calm energy.
And so it began… Private & Group Sessions with Your “Best Friend”. Could your pooch be the motivation to get you to shake your tail? Then get moving with “Tails A Waggin”, the “K9” workout of all times.
Alice’s Philosophy
Through Balance, Personal Training, Nutrition & a Holistic Lifestyle, people have learned to lOve themselves and their lives for over 30 years with Alice’s coaching. It’s time to share that experience with your entire family.
Proper exercise of the mind & body, a species specific nutritional diet, simple & easily understood direction and appropriately timed positive praise create results, balance, respect and adoration. You do not want your dogs to “obey” you out of fear and develop issues, you want them to respect, listen and do as you ask & instruct them to with lOve and positive rewards. We needn’t break their spirits just their bad habits, along with our own.
Pets, aka furkids and training have always been a part of Alice’s life, ranging from small to large including ShihTzus, Yorkies, Havanese, Mixed Breeds, Rescues, Shepherds, Dobies, Retrievers, Great Danes, Rotties, Pit Bulls, Alley/Pedigree Cats, Birds, Quarter Horses and even a Goat. Alice has trained and “broken” horses as well.
Throughout all her years of training and coaching, Alice has always said “your pet aka furkid is a reflection of you”. Especially with our dogs! Haven’t you noticed your dog is usually a good image of who you are and what you look like? Of course you have, everyone says we start to look alike, us and our dogs! With that being said, she started encouraging people to train with their dogs at their sides. “Your dog represents the perfect opportunity to engage in an exercise program”. “Think of them as exercise on a leash, just waiting for you to join them in a brisk walk or romp outside”. “It’s so simple”.
About the training
Alice offers Personal Training, One-on-One for you and your dog. It’s time to lead your dog to a new and balanced holistic life. Whether they are young pups and need to be nurtured and taught good manners & the right behaviors or aged and troublesome in one way or another, it’s never too soon or too late to learn and begin training. It’s truly not as difficult as you might imagine. With good direction, patience, determination, proper instructions, correlating rewards and appropriately timed positive praise, every dog can achieve a balanced life. We owe it to them and to ourselves to accomplish this task and live in harmony with our “best friends”, the loyal and ever loving dogs in our lives.
